Martinsville City, Henry and Patrick Counties

Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Martinsville City, Henry and Patrick County region has everything from breathtaking views of Nature and watersheds to the thrill of NASCAR racing.  Long a historical and leading center of both the textile and furniture industry, the communities here are filled with generous people who care deeply about the region, either because of long and deep family roots or having fallen in love with their new hometown after locating here.

Since 2005, The Community Foundation’s office in Martinsville has had the privilege of working closely with individuals, families, and corporations to match donor intent with community needs and opportunities, both to create deeper local impact and to build significant long-term resources through named charitable endowments.

Proud to support the mission at DePaul Community Resources. Thanks for the continued effort and the impact you’re making!Linda is part of DePaul’s Agency-Directed Services Program. Recently, she started having issues with her walker and was having trouble getting around safely. DePaul was concerned about her mobility while waiting for her insurance coverage, so we were able to find grant funding to help her purchase a new walker and now she is ready to go!

Thank you to the Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia and the Thomas P. and Lewise S. Parsley for providing the grant that made this purchase possible 💙

Reliable, up‑to‑

It’s easy to forget how much nonprofits rely on technology behind the scenes—but upgrades like this make a real difference. The Foundation was proud to have awarded a $13,000 grant to help Roanoke Valley SPCA update their server. That means stronger data security, smoother day‑to‑day operations, and—most importantly—no interruptions in the care and support they provide to the animals and community.

"Our donors trust us to be responsible stewards of both their contributions and their personal information, and this support helps us uphold that trust every day." - Mary Carlin, Director of Finance

Yesterday was an exciting day for Restoration Housing, as they celebrated the completion of Trinity Commons!

The Foundation was proud to support this senior housing project with a $20,000 grant. By rehabilitating historic buildings, they aren't just providing 15 beautiful new affordable rental apartments for seniors, they are preserving the character of our neighborhoods. This grant was made possible by the Marion S. and Willie Z. Camp Fund for Eldercare.
