Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia, the region’s community foundation, administers a variety of scholarships to reward and assist capable and deserving students based on the criteria established by the fund donors.

Who May Apply?

Any graduating high school senior, current college student and/or non-traditional student planning on attending a college or university may apply. However, there are unique eligibility requirements for every scholarship. Please review the requirements on the Scholarship Map page of our website.

Scholarship Timeline

  • Online application is made available on this website.

January 13, 2023

  • Application Deadline 

January 18, 2023

  • Deadline for third parties to submit transcripts and letters of recommendation.

March – April 

  • Scholarship Advisory Committees meet and complete recommendations.
  • Award selections made.

May

  • Award notification letters emailed to applicants.

May 2023 (TBD)

  • Martinsville Scholarship Dinner 
  • Invitations will be mailed to all recipients.

May 2023 (TBD)

  • Roanoke Scholarship Dinner
  • Invitations will be mailed to all recipients.

June 

  • Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the college or university in the recipient’s name.
