NPO CONNECT OCTOBER MEETING: Team Building

Please join us for our October NPO CONNECT meeting! We will hear from Jeanne Newby, VP of People and Culture at Valley Star Credit Union. The workshop will focus on important steps that successful team leaders use in order to create an engaged workplace and achieve lasting results. Coffee and donuts will be provided. We hope to see you there! 

LET’S TALK ABOUT: Team Building 

Are your employees engaged, do they have fun at work, and is your team achieving the desired results? In this session, we will talk about the Results Pyramid1 and how focusing on creating positive experiences with your employees can impact results.  We will discuss five steps successful team leaders use to create an engaged workplace and achieve results. We will look at team building exercises and events that can build positive experiences and trust. Besides being fun and energizing, your employees will get to see co-workers in new and exciting ways.  For example, Ann in accounting will no longer just be the relentless voice on the phone asking for the monthly numbers. She will also be seen as the mother of a cute 5-year-old who shares your love of scary movies. Ann will become more than just an accountant. Personal bonds will be formed.   You will leave this session with creative ideas and tools to plan a memorable team building event that will drive results and enhance relationships.

NonProfit staff and board members are welcome. Space is limited. 

COST: FREE!  Please note that if you register and are unable to make the networking event, you will need to let Foundation staff know immediately so that others may participate. Registrants who do not show will automatically be added to the wait list for the next networking meeting.

Speaker: 

Jeanne Newby is a Human Resource professional with more than twenty years of corporate human resource, training, and talent management experience. She spent most of her career with ACS/Xerox in various HR leadership roles. A SHRM Senior Certified Professional, she has always gravitated towards the professional development of employees, managers, and senior leadership. In addition to her corporate HR roles, she is a Certified Coach through the Coach Training Alliance. Jeanne is currently functioning as the VP of People and Culture at Valley Star Credit Union, a not-for-profit organization.  In this role, she manages the daily Human Resource and Training functions while also enhancing the company’s culture initiatives. She continues to be actively engaged with leadership development and building highly engaged workforces. She resides in Botetourt County with her husband Kevin and her chocolate lab Nellie.
