Information for Scholarship Seekers

Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia, the region’s community foundation, administers a variety of scholarships to reward and assist capable and deserving students based on the criteria established by the fund donors.
This guide describes the eligibility requirements and award for each scholarship. Specifics of the Foundation’s scholarship program may be subject to change from time to time. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact your guidance counselor or the Foundation at (540) 985-0204.

Who May Apply?

Any graduating high school senior and/or non-traditional student planning on attending a college or university may apply. However, there are unique eligibility requirements for every scholarship. Please review the requirements as detailed in the Scholarship Guide. Applications must be submitted online and you only need to complete ONE application.

  • Online application and Scholarship Guides are made available on this website.

February 23, 2019

  • ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE – You only need to complete ONE application.

March 2, 2019

  • Deadline for third parties to submit transcripts and letters of recommendation.

April – June

  • Award selections made.
  • Award notification letters mailed to applicants.

June

  • Scholarship checks are mailed directly to the college or university in the recipient’s name.
